Ce sont des petites études peint dans l’atelier d’après des dessins faits sur place. Je cherche un écart du sujet qui m’oblige à trouver un nouveau équilibre. Celui-ci doit prendre en compte l’impression visuel de la scene, pourquoi j’etais attiré par le sujet et comment resoudre ceci formellement dans peinture.
These are small studies painted in the studio from drawings done on the spot. I think I’m after a separation from the subject which requires me to find a new balance. Something that addresses the direct visual impression, how and why I’m drawn to a particular element and how that can be resolved in a formal way in the painting.
